Pružinská Dúpna cave

situated near Pružine-Priedhorí, it was created more than 15 million years ago by underground water flows. The entrance to the cave is situated in the Rečica vally on the slopes of Čierny vrch. The main part of the cave is a spacious rising hallway 15 to 20 m wide and up to 5 m high. There is evidence of human habitation in the Stone Age, with finds of the bones of a cave bear and cave lion. In the present time the cave is inhabited by bats during the winter. This is the reason for the cave’s seasonal closure.
