Kráľova hoľa (1 948 m)

celebrated and steeped in legend, this is the highest peak of the eastern part of Low Tatras. The best known and largest Slovak rivers: the Hron, the Hornád, the Hnilec and one of the two springs of the Váh River, spring from under its slopes.

According to legend, Váh is the fruit of the love of Kriváň of the High Tatras and Kráľová hoľa of the Low Tatras. Two springs - the Čierny Váh under Kráľová hoľa and the Biely Váh under Kriváň, merge into the Váh in Liptov, which is 403 km long, the longest river in Slovakia, and flows into the Danube River near Komárno.
