Tradition has it that the Virgin Mary revealed herself to a forest worker on the mountain of Živčáková in the last century. News spread quickly and religious people began to make a pilgrimage up the mountain from where they took water from the nearby spring. The Chapel of Our Lady of Turzovka was built on the site of the revelation. The wooden cross of Detva, which was donated by residents from the picturesque village of Detva, is a true rarity. This mountain, which is approximately 800 m high and the site spreads across a forest glade in an old spruce forest. It also forms the intersection of several trails from Turzovka, Korňa, Vysoká and Kelčov, which bring those who come here to search, pray and give thanks.
